Although a fairly rare breed, these one-of-a-kind synergisms portray the deep and genuine connection capable in humans, ranging from a mirror reflection to a counterpoint. Amy Touchette is a photographer based in New York City. Her photographs explore themes of social connectedness by assembling documentary portrait typologies. Trained at the International Center of Photography in New York City, Touchette began her artistic career as a writer and painter, earning a BA in Literature and Studio Art and an MA in Literature. She also works as a freelance photography writer for publications such as PDNedu, Rangefinder, and Emerging Photographer magazines, and writes an ongoing series about street photography for the tutorial website Envato Tuts+. Touchette’s first monograph, "Shoot the Arrow: A Portrait of The World Famous *BOB*," was published and funded by Un-Gyve Press (Boston, 2013). Other publications include The New York Times (August 2016 and July 2012), the New York Observer (June 2015), Esquire magazine, Russia (May 2011), and Loudmouth Press’s fine art book, "Why Are You Surprised I’m Still Here?" (November 2010). Touchette's photographs have exhibited nationally and internationally, including Moscow MoMA (Russia), Leica Gallery Warszawa (Poland), Hamburg Triennial of Photography (Germany), and at the US Embassies in Vienna, Austria; and Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, respectively. Touchette has given artist lectures at B&H Superstore, The School of Visual Arts, and The School of the International Center of Photography, among others.

    By Luke Smalley
    Located in New York, NY
Digital C-print Stamped and numbered, verso 20 x 24 inches (Edition of 10) 30 x 40 inches (Edition of 5) This photograph is offered by ClampArt, located in New York City. Please note that prices increase as editions sell. Luke Smalley was an American artist known for his photographic work, which pairs a coolly minimalist aesthetic with a retro nostalgia. Images from his early in his career were inspired by fitness manuals and yearbooks c. 1910. This is not surprising since Smalley graduated with a degree in sports medicine from Pepperdine University and worked for a number of years as a model and personal trainer. Smalley shot the bulk of his photographs in his home state of Pennsylvania, using real high school athletes as models. “Exercise at Home” is Luke Smalley’s second major body of work. Shot in and around the tiny Pennsylvania town the artist called home, Smalley revisits themes of adolescent growing pains acted out under the guise of earnest athleticism. Teenagers engage in simple yet strange competitions meant to establish their standings amongst one another. Two youths practice boating...

  • Untitled (Leah)
    By Joshua Lutz
    Located in New York, NY
Digital C-print (Edition of 10) Signed, dated, and numbered, verso 30 x 35.5 inches, sheet 22 x 27 inches, image This photograph is offered by ClampArt, located in New York City. Please note that prices increase as editions sell. Joshua Lutz is an American artist working with large-format photography and video. Lutz began photographing the Meadowlands ten years ago as a a documentary study of the 32-square-miles of marshy wilderness that sits between New Jersey and New York (while ostensibly searching for the remains of Jimmy Hoffa). Over the years, however, this project evolved into a compelling artistic exploration, revealing the soul of this liminal space. Lutz was given his first solo exhibition at Gitterman Gallery during the summer of 2004. In 2008, “Meadowlands,” was published as Lutz's first book, with powerHouse Books. In essayist Robert Sullivan’s introduction to the monograph, he describes the Meadowlands as “. . .that giant swath of swamp and space that separates New Jersey from New York City, or, put another way, from New York City and the rest of the United States of America.” “The New Yorker” wrote: “Joshua Lutz takes the New Topographics...
