The photos, mostly about 13 1/2 x 9 7/8 inches, some about 5 1.2 x 7 1/4 inches, all in excellent conditionthe; binding with an expertly rebacked spine in well-matched morocco, and stabilization of the edges by Green Dragon Bindery.
Jean Laurent, (French, 1816-1886) was a French photographer who worked mostly in Spain. He photographed architecture and landscape scenes throughout Spain, and sold the images separately, so that it is likely that our album was created for the buyer from images he had chosen. Laurent was the official photographer to the Queen of Spain and to the Prado Museum.

A collection of 16 hand-colored silver gelatin photographs spanning the history of the seminal 1980s New York nightclub known as "Area". These rare images were captured by Fernando Natalici - a noted downtown art scene photographer who is also famous for designing the majority of Area's party invites during this period. These works were exhibited at Area circa 1986 as part of show curated by Serge Becker (featured in image 4) - a key Area figurehead. This stunning photograph captures a vista through the storied volumes, intricately painted walls, and doorways inside the Biblioteca comunale dell'Archiginnasio (Archiginnasio Municipal Library). The Biblioteca Archiginnasio is a public library located inside the Palace of the Archiginnasio in Bologna, Italy. The largest library in Emilia-Romagna, it boasts some 850,000 volumes and pamphlets, 2,500 incunabula, 15,000 16th century editions, 8,500 manuscripts and then letters, collections of autographs, prints and drawings, and 250 archives. The library has also a section of 7,500 magazines. In 1838 a section of the building was destined to preserve the books collected from Napoleon's closure of the religious orders.
