Damien Hirst
British artist Damien Hirst is widely considered the enfant terrible of contemporary art. He is the most prominent of the so-called Young British Artists, or YBAs, a group, largely composed of Hirst’s classmates at Goldsmiths, in London, that began exhibiting together in warehouses and factories after 1988 and is known for the use of unconventional materials and “shock tactics.”
In the 1990s, Hirst said, “I can’t wait to get into a position to make really bad art and get away with it.” And indeed, he is notorious for piquing critics and baffling the public with such pieces as his signature glass vitrines containing dead sheep or sharks in formaldehyde, and his diamond-encrusted skull, For the Love of God.
Working primarily in sculpture, Hirst takes after French modernist master Marcel Duchamp in his use of ready-made objects and materials, which he combines to ironic effect. He often creates in series, as with The Cure (Violet) and The Cure (Turquoise), both from 2014, which are among several pill paintings referencing Andy Warhol’s embrace of mass production. Belonging to his ongoing series of “spot” paintings, begun in the 1980s, the 2005 piece Xylene Cyanol Dye Solution is striking for its machinelike, industrial uniformity and almost childlike simplicity, a seeming rebuke to the idea of the artist-as-genius.
In addition to making art, Hirst has launched stores that sell editioned works (Other Criteria), a restaurant (Pharmacy2) and even his own London museum (Newport Street Gallery).

- Storm Spectres IBy Tim SouthallLocated in Deddington, GBStorm Spectres I’ is a unique monotype made at the artist’s studio in Cadiz, southern Spain. Much of Tim’s work takes the land or the sea as a starting point – a vast unending springboard where he explores concepts of human mortality, perceptions of life and death, emotions and colour. Although the pieces are clearly some sort of landscapes there is always ambiguity allowing the viewer to make a personal interpretation of what is directly in front of them. Tim’s monotypes are completely unique pieces of work made from inking up several copper etching plates...Category

From an edition of 8 Image size ⋅ 94cm H x 120cm W ⋅ 3 panels . Le Klint Studio is an inspiration to anyone who loves paper folding, contemporary design, and light. So, of course, I couldn’t resist making a series of origami like geometries for a new set of works in 2015. Le Klint Studio, to my mind, are particularly well known for their folded paper pendant shades, contemporary designs which are as beautiful as they are ubiquitous. The image I made is not an identikit line work, more an homage based around some of the origami like folds they use, with the addition of colour glazes and offset transparencies. I've also added a grid like structure of darkly shaded lines and accents, that brings the geometry to life. The first piece I drew, ACDH (acid house...Category

The work is individually signed and numbered verso, with both a unique catalogue raisonné number and the edition number for guaranteed authenticity. From an edition of 12 Image size ⋅ 80cm H x 80cm W . Myriad is a study based on a number of ideas for processing digitally drawn sculptural forms, that I was keen to explore further for my Generator show. The drawing progresses from a circular core to a square form at its outer edges, literally squaring the circle. The whole form becoming redolent of a 12” record, perhaps a white label, or similar unbranded sleeve often used for limited releases and remix EPs, a format which of course comprises a circular vinyl disc...Category
