Ernst Fuchs was an Austrian painter, draftsman, printmaker, sculptor, architect, stage designer, composer, poet, and one of the founders of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism.
I discovered him through H.R. Giger ‘s work, who himself was greatly inspired by the creations of Fuchs and on several occasions exhibited his friend ‘s art in his museum, the Château St-Germain, Gruyères, Switzerland.
I actually own the original folio box/casket “Die Sieben Bilder und Sprüche der Sphinx” (“The seven Images and Sayings of the Sphynx”), including the double sided, screen printed canvas covered inlay as well as all seven individually decorated Mounts for the sheets.
Unfortunately, when I acquired the object, there were only three of the seven sheets remaining. I have decided to keep one and sell two, rather than to seek out the 4 missing sheets and re-complete the folio.
There were only 99 sets issued in 1967 and once the prints had been removed to be framed most of these folio boxes got lost over the years; so quite a rare thing indeed – Anyone interested in acquiring the folio box … talk to me.

These include age, value and provenience and so on as well as the taxes concerning these. Meaning, you the buyer cover all incurring import costs, duties and taxes on your end. I pack the goods myself and very carefully. Where it makes sense, for environmental reasons I will use recycled packing materials. I ship using the Swiss Postal Priority Service and all shipments are fully insured.
