Swing IV by Herbert Oehm, 1972 Additional information: Medium: screenprint 72 x 72 cm 28 3/8 x 28 3/8 in signed and numbered 66/175 in pencil Herbert Oehm is a German Postwar & Contemporary painter who was born in Württemberg, 1935. He studied from 1957 to 1959 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Ernst Geitlinger and then until 1960 at the Ulm School of Design. Oehm’s first exhibition was Dynamo 1 at Galerie Renate Boukes in Wiesbaden in 1959, and the most recent exhibition was 'Gestalten - Ein Jahrhundert abstrakte Kunst im Westen at Kunsthaus NRW - Aachen' in Aachen in 2019. Herbert Oehm is mostly exhibited in Germany, but also had exhibitions in South Africa, United States and elsewhere. Oehm has had one solo show and 17 group shows over the last 60 years. Oehm has also been in 11 art fairs but in no biennials. The most important show was Monochrome Malerei at Museum Morsbroich in Leverkusen in 1960. Other important shows were at Singapore Art Museum in Singapore and Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand (MASP) in São Paulo. Herbert Oehm has been exhibited with Jesús Rafael Soto and Heinz Mack. Herbert Oehm’s art is in two museum collections, at Daimler Contemporary in Berlin and Osten Museum of Drawing in Skopje.
