Description
This is Shamisen II, a signed, embossed and stamped limited edition giclée print by João Ruas. Created using hundreds of transparent acrylic layers on watercolor paper, the original work has been faithfully reproduced by the publisher’s UK print studio. The result is a richly layered, luminous image typical of Ruas’s technique.

João Ruas is a well-known artist from São Paulo, Brazil, who has gained recognition for his works in both the domestic and international art scene. His artistic style is unique and captivating, drawing inspiration from mythological fables and characters from fantasy worlds. His works have been featured in the URBAN NATION 2018 exhibition, ‘UN-DERSTAND The Power of Art as a Social Architect’.
João began his artistic journey in São Paulo and went on to complete a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from London. He then worked in studios in both Brazil and the United Kingdom before eventually shifting his creative focus to fine art. João’s works are characterized by his exceptional and deeply captivating illustrations, which often feature mythological creatures and legends, drawing from imaginary domains.
