About the Item
This portfolio titled "Em Qualquer Canto (Anywhere)" by Brazilian artist Marcio Perigo, b. 1949 is composed of 13 original engravings on German paper, all hand signed, numbered 4/20 and dated between 1974 to 1985 in pencil by the artist. The plate mark (image) size vary from 2 x 2.35 inches to 4.85 x 5.75 inches on 10 x 10.5 inches sheet. It come with the title and introduction pages and the original 11.85 x 12.25 inches red fabric slipcase The artworks and the slipcase are in excellent condition.
About the artist:
Born in São Paulo in 1949, Marcio Périgo graduated in Fine Arts from Fundação Armando Álvares. Penteado, SP where he studied engraving with Evandro Carlos Jardim. He obtained a master's degree in 2001 and a doctorate in the field of visual arts, 2009, at the Institute of Arts of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP-SP). Marcio Périgo has been exhibiting in Brazil and abroad since 1974. He held his first individual exhibition of drawings and engravings at MASP, in 1977. He participated in the Annual Engraving Exhibition, in Curitiba/PR, in the years 1980, 84, 86 and 88 In 1985, he released the album ANYWHERE / EM ANYQUER CANTO, with 13 engravings and a preface by José Mindlin. In 1988, he received aolsa Vitae de Artes – Caos Apparente project, with a solo exhibition at the Cabinet of Raquel Arnaud. He exhibited in Ljubljana, Slovenia at the International Print Biennale, 1987/89. In 1991, he received the Acquisition award at the 12th National Salon of Plastic Arts, MAB – Brasília. She held a solo exhibition at Estação Pinacoteca, in São Paulo, in 2005. Her works are exhibited in the main Ricular collections and Brazilian museums.
