Michel Haas born on May 15 , 1934 in Paris and died on May 18 , 2019 in Marseilles, is a French painter , engraver and illustrator. Michel Haas follows a course outside of art schools and marked paths before gaining recognition from major galleries and finding consecration among collectors. These gallery owners are, among others, Nina Dausset, who exhibited him in 1980 and then, very quickly, Jan Krugier who showed his works in Geneva and New York for some twenty-five years, alongside the Di Meo gallery which represented the artist since 1990. This loyalty of major dealers has made it possible to include his work in a history of art on which all the light has not yet been shed, precisely because this history is not the one that imposed the institutions, Michel Haas keeping away from what it was then appropriate to call a “plastic proposition”.

Michel Haas is a painter and sculptor. He started his career with a cultural trip to Italy in the footsteps of Fra Angelico and Piero Della Francesca that influenced all his future artworks. During his life, he held numerous exhibitions in galleries and museums of Europe.
