Otto Schubert (born January 29, 1892 in Dresden - June 12, 1970) was a painter and graphic artist who also worked as a stage painter at the court theater in Dresden in his youth . He studied 1906-09 at the Dresden School of Applied Arts and worked from 1909 to 1913 as a stage painter at the Dresden Court Theater. From 1913 to 1914 he made graphic studies as part of his studies with Emanuel Hegenbarth at the Dresden Art Academy . He was committed to military service from 1914 to 1917. From 1917 to 1918 he was a master student of Otto Gussmann and Otto Hettner and was awarded the grand state prize. In 1919 he founded the Dresden Secession Group together with Otto Dix , Conrad Felixmüller and others . It was made by Julius Meier-Graefediscovered for the Marées Society, who published several books with illustrations by him from 1918 onwards. Few of his graphics have survived, as the printing blocks and plates were destroyed in World War II. Schubert had his first major special exhibition in 1922 in the Alfred Flechtheim gallery in Berlin. From 1945 he worked as a freelancer in Dresden.
Carl Ferdinand Max Hauptmann, pseudonym Ferdinand Klar (Obersalzbrunn, 1858 - Schreiberhau, 1921) who was a German playwright and writer. Like his brother Gerhart Hauptmann, Hauptmann was an author of the literary current of naturalism .

Otto Schubert
Otto Schubert was a rising star in Dresden when the city was considered the cultural center of Germany. In 1919, he founded the Dresdner Sezession Gruppe together with Oskar Kokoschka, Otto Dix, Conrad Felixmüller and others. Schubert was known for his portfolio of war lithographs and hand-painted postcards. He illustrated editions of the Grimm Fairy Tales, Rabelais, Balzac, Flaubert and Aesop. In 1918, he won the Staatspreis, which is Saxony’s most distinguished award for artists.
