About the Item
This original screen print is hand signed by the artist Paul Guiramand. Good condition except some foxings on paper.

Paul Guiramand was born in 1926 in Saint-Quentin, France. When he was 30, he moved to Paris and began studying at the Ville de Paris and continued at the “Ecole des Beaux-Arts School”. In his artistic career, he took inspiration from Picasso and Matisse, as well as from Masaccio and Piero della Francesca, whom he saw when he travelled to Italy. In 1953, he was awarded the “Prix de Rome”. Since then, he has taken part in many exhibitions in both the UK and the USA. He died in 2008.

Paul Guiramand
Guiramand, painter, sculptor and lithographer, was born in 1926 in Saint-Quentin in northern France. In 1943, he entered the École des Beaux-Arts. In 1951, Guiramand, with a painting entitled l’Olympia, (Homage à Manet) won the prestigious Prix de Rome. There followed a period of studies in Rome (1953-1957) after which his career was enhanced with personal exhibitions in London, Geneva, Paris, Chicago and Tokyo.
