About the Item

-Pedro Friedeberg signed print featuring a collection of various dogs. Includes whimsical figures, optical art elements, and surreal details. framed in a hand-painted black and gold striped frame. a vibrant example of friedeberg’s iconic vision and imaginative style. Pedro Friedeberg is an Italian-born Mexican artist and designer known for his surrealist work filled with lines, colors, and ancient religious symbols. His most famous piece is the "ManoChair": a sculpture/chair designed to sit on the palm of the hand, using the fingers as backrests and armrests. Friedeberg began studying architecture but did not finish. He began producing designs that went against the conventional forms of the 1950s, some as incredible as houses with artichoke roofs. His work caught the attention of Mathías Goeritz, who encouraged him to continue his career as an artist. Friedeberg became part of a group of Mexican surrealist artists, including Leonora Carrington and Alicia Rahón, noted for their irreverence and rejection of the dominant social and political art of the time.
