Piero Dorazio
Avion

1969

About the Item

This print is named Avion, meaning Airplane. It shows diverse, vertical colored stripes, some angular and some slightly curved. Different tones of blue dominate the foreground. Some of the stripes are in two colors or different shades of the same color. Their margins are irregular lines, looking like clouds. The colors Dorazio used for this print are, depending on the period of the day, the colors of the sky or the condensed stripes of an airplane’s exhaust.
