About the Item

This lithographic poster was printed in 1981 at the Atelier Mourlot in Paris. In the early 1970s, Air France commissioned Roger Bezombes to create original artworks capturing the spirit of Air France. Bezombes was a French painter famous for his exquisite sculptures and paintings. He studied in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and was much influenced by his friendship with Maruice Denis as well as the colors of Henri Matisse. In the 1960s he began exhibiting a new rawness derived from ‘primitive’ examples and new materials associated with his experiments in various media. These bright, modern, and surrealist inspired posters were revolutionary and far ahead of their time, depicting concepts indicative of travel and indulgence such as ‘exotisme’, ‘gastronomie’, ‘liberté’, and ‘raffinement’. Certificate of Provenance: Each individual work of art carefully curated by Mourlot Editions comes with a Certificate of Provenance, signed, dated, stamped, and numbered by Eric Mourlot. Stored in a clear protective sleeve accompanying your piece, this certificate guarantees the origin and authenticity of your personal lithograph.

In the Name of Liberty - Figurative Original Painting
By Zabel
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Guided by her passion for life and her spirit, French Canadian painter Zabel creates vibrant artworks filled with romance and immersive textures. With a belief that art is all about feeling, she creates magic and captures the moment by infusing her art with strong emotive qualities. Zabel communicates each scene with precision. Her work evokes the Impressionists, but depicts modern love and adventure. Couples stand at bar top tables sipping aperitifs. Bartenders and piano players help to break the ice among palm trees and cityscapes presented in vibrant, dripping hues. The energy of social butterflies drawn to one another is palpable as they float effortlessly across the canvas. This 36 inch high by 18 inch wide painting...
