About Tang Chenghua
Tang Chenghua was born in 1964 in Fujian, China. He received his M.F.A from Nagoya University of The Arts in 1995. The artist works and lives in Beijing as professor of department of Prints in Central Acadamy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China and vice-president of Li Keran Academy of Painting of China.
Tang Chenghua’s abstraction distinguishes from others as most of his creations are related to “scenes”, whether they are the landscapes from the Nature or the built environment deep inside, neither of them are directly from the pictogram contents with different kinds of colors, however, white canvas are endowed with free conversions through his body and brushes, and they develop into a colorful world.
Tang Chenghua has a rich international academic background. Having floated about between East and West for a decade, Tang Chenghua’s work emphasizes the serendipity of the creation process, and shimmers with the passion of abstract expressionism and movement art. His abstract art, which straddles the divide between materials and mediums, has traces of a magnificent personal style, but Eastern culture dominates his artistic world.
His artworks are held in numerous collections both at home and abroad include Hubei Academy of Fine Arts; Xi’an Academuy of Fine Arts; Central Academy of Fine Arts; Fujian Normal School’ Lu Xun Memorial Hall, Zhejiang,China; Bingxin Museum of China; Fujian Museum of Art; Sichuan Printmaking Museum; Stifyung Insel Hombroich, Germany; Aichi International Academy, Japan; Tokyo Sato Museum of Art; Nagoya University of Arts, Japan; National Museum of Art of Peru; National Taiwanese Normal University of Art Museum, Taiwan; Cambridge St.Barnabas International Print Center, United Kindom, The New York First Bank, United States.

Pop Style- Limited Edition Abstract Prints - Spring Rosy Clouds #11
The piece is signed and numbered, limited edition of 99 A.P
About Spring Rosy Clouds
The highly conceptual series has drawn materials from the rocks of Chinese Gardens. Garden rocks, viewed as mountains -the larger world of nature in microcosm, often supplanted actual scenery as sources of inspiration for images of landscape. Whether it’s garden design or Chinese landscape painting, one of the most important considerations is the harmonious arrangement of elements expressing different aspects of yin( metaphor of feminity) and yang(metaphor of masculinity).
In this series, the artist uses digital techniques to combine the image of flower (feminity) and rocks (masculinity), expressing the vitality of life. Behind the simple lines lie an outstanding creating ability of lines that have long set the artist apart. The pink color, along with the implied meaning of Spring in the title of work suggests implicitly the repressed sexual concept in East, revealing in a moderate tone the artist’s insight about contemporary Chinese culture.
