Anatole Krasnyansky
is a contemporary American-Ukrainian artist, best known for his watercolors and cityscapes. His work conflates themes of music, theater, architecture, and culture through colorful figurations set in non-Euclidean space. Born in 1930 in Kiev, Ukraine, Krasnyansky earned his master’s in architecture and fine art before emigrating from the Soviet Union in 1975 to pursue his career in Los Angeles, CA. His structural aesthetic is shaped by his previous work as an architect, as well as having served as a scenic artist in the theater industries. Notably, Krasnyansky developed a unique process of textural watercolor painting, where his paper works reference Eastern culture and heritage through color relationships and architectural features. Currently living and working in Los Angeles, CA, Krasnyansky has exhibited internationally, including at institutions such as Stanford University in Palo Alto and at the University of Los Angeles.

ABOUT CECIL TAYLOR
Cecil Taylor (b. 1929) is a towering, sometimes divisive figure within twentieth-century music. In the early 1960s, with fellow maverick artists Ornette Coleman, Albert Ayler and others, he revolutionized jazz by extending bebop into a radical terrain dubbed the "New Thing" or "free jazz"—the latter a term with political as well as aesthetic connotations given the social changes underway at the time in America. For Taylor, freedom meant a deep synthesis of the modern composers such as Béla Bartók and Igor Stravinsky that he encountered during his studies at the New England Conservatory of Music with the nuanced and original piano innovations of Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, Bud Powell...

Avissar, Simon (Israeli, 1938-2020) is a Postwar & Contemporary painter born in Casablanca. As a tireless nomad, he exhibited for the first time in 1961, in Jaffa, where he lived and worked for some time. He then moved to Paris, settling into a studio in Montparnasse and began with an exhibition of his work at the Galerie Charpentier in 1964, and after exhibited at Abel Rambert, the Galerie de l’Elysée, and the Galerie Bénézit in the 14 years he lived there. He then moved to the United States, including Washington, New York, and Lose Angeles, while continuing to travel to South America, Australia, and South Africa, exhibiting in many places he visited. His work integrates the contributions of the avant-garde with cubist simplification, chromatic audacity, and abstract geometry.
