  • "Ghetto Blaster Rat"
    By Banksy
    Located in Helsingør, DK
Early Banksy Ghetto Blaster Rat. From the collection of Harvey Haddock. An early photo af Harvey in the doorway of "Crude Oils". And a leter photo of Harvey holding the work. Custom made bespoke frame - massive black oak. UltraVue anti reflective museum glass. Letter from Harvey: To whom it may concern. My name is Harvey Haddock and in the early 2000´s I worked along Banksy on many of his projects. The first of which being "Turf wars". I also worked extensively with him on "Crude Olis" and various other projects around that time. As time went on we became good friends and he would always stay with me when he was visiting Brighton. After one such visit I realised he had left a folder containing a lot of his rough drafts and general notes and I can testify to the fact that this folder is part of the collection of items that he left. Kind regards Harvey. Haddock was also used by Banksy as the model for the famous Banksy painting “Nighthawks” depicting a drunk Englishman (Harvey Haddock) who has thrown a chair in the window of the bar in Edward Hoppers famous painting Nighthawks. A photo exists of Harvey Haddock as he is working on the exhibition “Crude Oils” that opened at 100 Westbourne Grove in London and was Banksy’s second major exhibition, after Turf War in 2003. It featured 20 versions of classical oil paintings, among them Van Gogh, Hopper, Warhol, Turner and Monet. Also present were 200 live rats and some interesting sculptures. See photos. The connection between Banksy and Harvey Haddock can be found in Banksy literature and in the press. "For Edward Hopper's bar scene, Nighthawks, Banksy has added an angry man...

Although the exact location is unclear, both agree that it would have been at either Fashion Moda or the Writers’ Bench at 149th Street and Grand Concourse. Founded by Stefan Eins in 1978, Fashion Moda began as a “cultural concept” whose principles revolved around the fact that art can be made by anyone, anywhere and art should be accessible to anyone, anywhere. Located in the South Bronx, Fashion Moda embraced new talent and encouraged creative production across all mediums. The gallery has been credited as a major force behind the recognition of graffiti writing as an art form and it played a pivotal role in a community where Hip Hop was rapidly emerging. CRASH was only 19 years old when he curated “Graffiti Art Success for America” at Fashion Moda and his varied experiences at the gallery would later inspire his founding of WALLWORKS. • Repeat
    Located in North Adams, MA
In 1984, Eric Orr and Keith Haring joined forces to create a series of chalk drawings in the NYC subways. As their work evolved, the artists shifted their focus from the subway to the studio and embarked on the production of a suite of drawings. Included in the group was Repeat which had made its first appearance in the 23rd Street IRT uptown station. Little did Orr and Haring know that the reimagined drawing would be auctioned at Christie’s six years later. 2020 heralds a new beginning for Repeat, a truly unique silkscreen print that both illustrates and celebrates a fierce friendship that began in the early 1980s at The Roxy roller rink in NYC, when two young artists decided to trade t-shirts on the dance floor.
