Insects is an original etching artwork on paper realized in 1954 by Christian D’ Espic (1901-1978).
Hand-signed on the lower right, dated on the lower left.
The State of preservation is very good.
Sheet dimension: 25 x 33 cm.
Image dimension: 9 x 13 cm.
The artwork represents two insects underwater through intense black color and whitish bubbles of water spread around them, skillfully depicted by precise and confident strokes. The artwork characterized by a well-balanced composition and chiaroscuro effect which enhances the volume of insects, the artist masterly made a contrast between black and white with the insects' bodies and surroundings.
