Saint Peter is an original lithograph on paper realized by Denis Auguste Marie Raffet in 1851. Signed on the plate on the lower left. Good conditions. Titled in French on the lower center" Saint Pierre" An interesting Lithograph of the French old master, Auguste Raffet, describes the march of French Artillery during the Siège of Rome (30 Avril1849), with soldiers indicating from far to Siant peter in perspective. The artist assisted and became the illustrator of the Italian campaigns. The artwork is depicted skillfully through confident and strong strokes in a well-balanced composition with perfect hatching. Denis Auguste Marie Raffet (1804 – 1860) was a French old master who specialized in lithograph, inspired by his patriotism: he was the official illustrator of the Napoleonic campaigns, from Egypt to Waterloo.
