Workers is an original lithograph on paper applied on cardboard realized by Denis Auguste Marie Raffet in 1854. Signed on the plate on the lower left and dated. Good conditions. Titled in French on the lower center" Travailleurs Allant A La Tranchee". An interesting Lithograph of the French old master, Auguste Raffet, describes the departure of workers to Tranchee during the Siège of Rome in 1849, which artist mastery created series of lithograph about this historical event and this is one of the admirable of them, The artist assisted and became the illustrator of the Italian campaigns. The artwork is depicted skillfully through confident and strong strokes in a well-balanced composition with perfect hatching. Denis Auguste Marie Raffet (1804 – 1860) was a French old master who specialized in lithograph, inspired by his patriotism: he was the official illustrator of the Napoleonic campaigns, from Egypt to Waterloo.
