About the Item
Raising a red cross on high the rider of ochre horse has his eye on figure close to the ground. The rider is dressed in similar fashion to a Spanish conquistador with a purple cape. The ground is saturated in black but the sky is a vivid blue. This lithograph is unframed but matted, third in an edition of 50, and signed by the artist on the front.
Born in the Dominican Republic, German Perez has been called the Marc Chagall of the Caribbean. His work is characterized by vibrant colors, symbolist images and fantasy story-telling. Perez has exhibited worldwide, and is featured in international collections, especially in private collections of famous individuals. He lives and works in New York City.
