Important and rare etching by G. De Nittis. Good condition with fine tonal contrasts. Slight foxing all over the sheet
1st state - before the ink veiling. "This drypoint in one of the portraits executed by De Nittis, Degas and Desboutin on their meeting on February 20th 1875, when, together with the painter and etcher Alphonse Hirsch, the Artist decided to paint each other's portrait (...). "The quick and instinctive stroke leaving no space to finishing touches, gives the portrait a profound psychological character" (Fiorani, Dinoia, 1999, p. 230).
