About the Item
Isaac (sometimes Isac) Friedlander's large wood engraving, My People, 1944, reflects his genuine social interest. After a youth of extreme hardship, including incarceration in a czarist prison, he had enormous empathy for anyone unfortunate. This is a wrenching World War II image, but one that shows the dignity of those who are suffering.
It is signed and titled in pencil.

- Condition:Mostly this large sheet is in reasonably good shape. There is old tape at the edges (see one of the photographs). There is also a horizontal crease about 3 inches down from the top of the image. It is hard to see and to photograph, but it is there.
