A Game of Political Shuttlecock is an original artwork realized by John Doyle in 1831. Original colored lithograph. Published by Thomas McLean, London (as printed on the lower center). The artwork is from the series Political Sketches by H.B. Volume II n.155 (as printed on the higher right margin), and represents a satiric scene. Title printed on lower center Good conditions except for a light shading of paper. Includes passepartout 49 x 69 cm John Doyle (1797-1868) was one of the most famous and prolific illustrator of the 19th century in Europe who was born in Ireland and active in London since 1822. For more than 20 years, in the first half of the 19th century, he produced an important number of political and social vignettes by the pen name H.B. The series "Political Sketches" is the most important series by Doyle. It includes 683 lithographs published by Thomas McLean between 1829 and 1841. This artwork is shipped from Italy.
