About the Item
No matter the seriousness of the subject, everything is always beautifully drawn on the lithographic stone by Bendiner, but in this instance the negative space is exploited amazingly.
This courtroom scene has all the players; the defendant, lawyers, the judge, court reporter, and bailiffs -- clearly indicated by their uniforms with hats and badges. (All men of course...)
From an edition of 50, this print is signed, titled, and numbered, in pencil, as well as monogrammed in the stone at the lower left.
