Border 3 is an original Contemporary artwork realized in 1972 by the italian artist Leo Guida (1992 - 2017).

Hand-signed, Dated and titled in pencil on the lower margin by the artist: Prova d'autore III/III Confine 3 Leo Guida.

Leo Guida (1992 - 2017). Sensitive to current issues, artistic movements and historical techniques, Leo Guida has been able to weave with many generations of young people in the course of his career, a productive conversation on art and the function of the artist. He was a teacher at the Liceo Artistico in Latina from 1969 to 1985, and he trained many of the artists who today characterize the Italian cultural scene. Copious was his production of graphic works in which Guida showed all his talent for the techniques of chalcography, etching, aquatint and burin etc.

Leo Guida
Prolific throughout the 1960s and 1970s, artist Leo Guida was an influential Italian painter and printmaker.
Beginning in 1969, Guida served as a teacher for nearly two decades at the Liceo Artistico in Latina. While he worked with watercolor paints to create much of his known art, he produced a wide range of graphic prints that is representative of his talents.
Guida worked with Chinese ink and was fluent in a variety of printmaking techniques, which included chalcography, engraving and aquatint. The latter is a technique named for its resemblance to watercolor or ink wash, while engraving is a method of making prints by incising lines into a metal plate with a sharp tool called a burin. Chalcography sees an artist engraving on copper or brass plates.
Guida made art in all kinds of styles over the course of his career. The bulk of his drawings and etchings are richly detailed and fantastical — they feature nudes, imagery from nature and depictions of mythological creatures. Guida’s works on paper show the influence of Spanish printmaker and painter Francisco Goya and are also inclusive of Surrealist flourishes and themes.

Armodio was born in Piacenza in 1938.
His training depends not so much on the attendance of the "Gazzola" Art Institute in his city, but also on the encounter with the painter Luciano Spazzali, whose study is the ideal place for experimentation and contamination. Here he met the painter Gustavo Foppiani, first teacher and then a fellow traveler; the two work together and then join the painter Carlo Bertè who will divide the study until 1980.
This formed a free grouping animated by curiosity towards the most varied manifestations of culture, intent on reading reality under the sign of irony and inclined towards playful transgression. The first Piacenza personal exhibition was in 1963 at the Genocchi Gallery in Piacenza and in 1964, thanks to Foppiani, the Obelisk of Rome...
