About the Item
"Le dragon des mers" is an illustrated book realized by Tsuguharu Foujita and Jean Cocteau in 1955 and published by Georges Guillot Editions, Paris.
The sheets are engraved with illustrations of dragons and reptiles realized by Foujita; on the cover the title of the artwork "Le dragon des mers" and the signature of Foujita. On the first sheet there is the introduction and presentation with the "Justification du Tirage". On the second sheet there is a representation of a reptile in a jar. In the last sheet a typical representation of a Japanese stylized dragon with the French writing "Le Trésor japonais gardé par le Dragon des Mers".
Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita (Tokyo 1886) is a japanese artist who moved to Europe in 1913; he can be considered one of the artist of the "School of Paris"; he is famous especially for the illustrations and for the use of the japanese ink technique with a Western style.

Our specimen is printed on laid paper, glued on secondary support, trimmed within the impression.
