About the Item

Marsha Feigin's print Slam, brings home the drama we all love about tennis. She GETS IT! There's something about the energy and maybe torque of the body here that makes us think "I could do that" even though we, well, I, probably never could. Tennis is an important subject of Feigin and she's comfortable with scenes of physically powerful body types. This is an intaglio, that is to say an etching made using a photograph for the composition -- a photo-etching. It was published by Associated American Artists in an edition of 250. This is an artist's proof. (At AAA the artist received 10 APs for their personal use. The full 250 went to the Gallery.) The reference number is Windisch & Cole 2427. It is signed, titled, dated, and annotated "AP' in pencil.
