Patrick Duegaw Study for Fire Extinguisher: Leedy-Voulkos Art Center, Crossroads, Kansas City, MO Year: 2014 3 Color, Chine Colle Edition: 20 34.25 x 17.25 inches Signed lower right COA provided Patrick Duegaw (b. 1966) co-founded Fisch Haus, a cornerstone of Wichita's Art District, in 1990. He was featured in the Smithsonian Portrait of an Artist campaign and was a finalist in the National Portrait Competition (2005-2006). His solo exhibitions include the Wichita Art Museum (2009), Beach Museum of Art (2012), and Ulrich Museum (2017). His work is held in private, corporate, and institutional collections, including Emprise Bank and the Kansas Health Foundation. Duegaw received Wichita’s Outstanding Achievement in Art Award (2019). His short films, My Reluctant Monster and Fake Tools, were official selections at the Tallgrass Film Festival (2019, 2022). His work has been featured in New American Paintings (2007) and reviewed in Art in America (2007) and Hyperallergic (2021). His latest exhibition, Consorting with Flies, was held at Aussenwelt Gallery, Montréal, with an upcoming solo show, A Mishandling of Sharps, scheduled at the Yellowstone Museum of Art (2024-25). Duegaw and artist Elizabeth Stevenson live and work in Wichita and Montréal.
