Ria (Maria Geertruida Elisabeth) van Klaveren-Exel was born in Rotterdam on May 11, 1915, and died on March 19, 1985 in The Hague.
She studied at the Koninklijke Academie Voor Beeldende Kunst in The Hague, and at the Academie de la Grande Chaumere in Paris. Ria Exel was a versatile artist, best known for its etchings, drawings, and illustrations. In addition, she was also busy making tapestries, sculptures, and paintings.
