Gorman. from Arizona, the artist's later works focus almost entirely on the female figure and take Native American and Southwestern imagery as a source of inspiration. Here, a single woman sits in a colorful yet undefined space. The form of her yellow dress as she kneels is repeated in the delicately drawn bunches gladiolus flowers in her arms and scattered around her. Lithograph in colors on wove paper From the edition of 200 27 x 36 inches, artwork 39.5 x 48.5 inches, frame Signed and dated in pencil, lower left. Edition in pencil, lower right. Artist's blindstamp, lower left. Publisher blindstamp, lower right. Overall good condition; some fading to print colors; some minor wear to frame. The hinges for the print in the current frame are currently loose and can be repaired at time of purchase and before shipment. Presented in a custom frame with a gold-finish wood moulding, purple and orange silk-lined mats, gold fillets and protected behind glass. R.C. Gorman is a Navajo artist born in Arizona in 1931. Of his upbringing he says: "I was born near Canyon de Chelly in Arizona and spent my early years living close to nature and Navajo tradition. My family was rich in artistic talent and creative spirit, but not in material possessions. I have been fortunate to live and work in the beautiful Taos Valley, an environment also rich in artistry and tradition." He received education from Arizona State College and Mexico City College. Gorman draws inspiration from Native American and Southwestern imagery for his work. "Gladia" features this influence and creates a quiet scene of reflection between woman and nature.

'The Dealer' original signed color lithograph from the Gambler Series
Located in Milwaukee, WI
'The Dealer' is an original lithograph from John Doyle's 'Gambler' series. The suite included ten different prints, each image capturing the exhilaration and danger of the games of chance played by casino goers. In one of the prints, a woman pulls the lever of a slot machine; in another, men queue before a lottery ticket window. In 'The Dealer,' a man faces the viewer directly. His stern gaze is hidden behind dark glasses as he springs cards between his hands in a flurry of aces and spades. His clothes reflect both the fashion of the 1970s while also hearkening to the villains of Western films. All the while, he is framed from behind by the arch of a blackjack table, which is itself lined by glistening lights of the casino. 29.5 x 20.5 inches, artwork 37.75 x 28.75 inches, frame Signed "doyle" in pencil, lower right Entitled "Dealer" in pencil, lower left Series title "Gamblers" in pencil, lower left Edition "XXXIII/XL" (33/40) in pencil, lower left Publisher blindstamp, lower left Framed to conservation standards using archival materials including 100 percent rag matting, UV Clear glass to inhibit fading, and housed in a maroon-tinted mock tortoise shell finish wood moulding with a gold finish bevel.
