This pair of etchings, executed on a single sheet, was realized by Stefano Della Bella in 17th century.
Both etchings are signed with initials “SDB fec.”
The state of preservation is good. The etching (14,5x14 cm) is glued on the four corners onto another paper support (20,2x21,7 cm). Foxings, stains and browning of the paper due to the time.
Stefano Della Bella was an italian draughtsman and printmaker known for etchings of a great variety of subjects and he has left us over a thousand engravings. Della Bella worked mainly in Florence for the Medici family, for whom he created title pages, illustrations of feasts and views that enhance the Medici splendors.
