Des Hommes Arrivent du Fond de leur Passe ( Men arrive from the depths of their past ) is an artist proof lithograph. Theo Tobiasse an internationally successful artist is known for his Judeo- Christian mysticism. Born in 1927 in Jaffa , Mandatory Palestrine ( now Israel ) his Lithuanian family moved to Paris in 1931. Perhaps the hardships he and his family endured during the Nazi occupation of France helped define his artistic expression. His work has great depth and originality as he seeks to express the inner world of man. After the war he pursued his career as a designer for the company Hermes creating stage sets, window decorations and tapestries. He later drew international attention , won awards and became known all over the world for his Expressionist paintings and prints.
This original lithograph is in good condition with a few scattered creases which do not affect the image. E. A. Edition.

Théo Tobiasse
Born in Palestine in 1927 and brought to Paris as a child, Theo Tobiasse created his earliest drawings before World War II. After the war, having spent the crucial years of his youth hiding from the Nazis in a Paris apartment, he became a successful commercial designer until 1961, when he decided to devote his full attention to painting. Tobiasse's style of painting is highly sophisticated. His technique is a painterly blend of surrealism, expressionism, and modern primitivism. His themes are literary, often biblical, and at times, erotic. His paintings seem to transcend history - fusing dreams, mythologies, biblical stories and his own past - into rich metaphors for the world of the present. An internationally acclaimed artist, Tobiasse's works are included in numerous private, corporate and museum collections worldwide.

Vintage Soviet Government propaganda lithographic poster titled with Ukrainian text that reads “Corrupt Petliura has sold Ukraine to the Polish landowners. Landowners burned and plundered Ukraine. Death to landowners and Petlyurovites.” Originally issued April 1920 following the Treaty of Warsaw (also the Polish-Ukrainian Agreement).
