About the Item

This original 1971 poster was created by Ida van Bladel, then art director at the Young & Rubicam agency in Brussels, for the European market of Levi’s. It has since become an iconic image, emblematic of the spirit of freedom that defined the early 1970s. Designed during a time of major cultural shifts, this advertising campaign boldly reflects the social transformations taking place among youth. Referencing the sexual liberation movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s, the poster positioned Levi’s as a brand deeply in tune with the values of self-expression and modernity. More than just an ad for denim, it captures a moment when jeans became a powerful symbol of identity, worn by a generation seeking freedom, equality, and authenticity. The campaign illustrates Levi’s ability to embrace the codes of counterculture while asserting its place in the global fashion landscape. This work by Ida van Bladel stands as a true artifact of its time, showcasing the powerful blend of graphic design, cultural rebellion, and bold marketing. It remains a landmark in the history of advertising and youth fashion. Fashion - Advertising - Nude

Original advertising poster by Dellepiane - Soldats !... je ne fume que Le Nil
Located in PARIS, FR
David Dellepiane, born in Genoa in 1866, arrived in France at the age of 9 and entered the École des Beaux-Arts in Marseille in 1880. He lived in Paris in 1890, at a time when modernstyle was becoming popular with Mucha's posters. He worked in the capital under the direction of Jules Chéret who trained him in lithographic art. It is Jean Bardou who creates around 1845 the brand of cigarette paper "J.B", which quickly became "JOB". His son, Joseph Bardou, also created a cigarette paper workshop in 1849, with the brands Papier Bardou and Riz Bardou, and the signature "JH Bardou". In the 1870s, part of the production was sent to Egypt, which is why one of the paper brands was given the name of the Nile, registered on May 13, 1887. This product was launched by advertisements with images of sphinxes, pyramids, palm trees and the famous elephant which was redesigned by the poster artist Leonetto Cappiello in 1912. This poster shows Napoleon on horseback, with a battalion of soldiers. Tobacco - Military - Advertisement Napoleon in Egypt - Rolling paper...

1982 vintage poster by Razzia for the Paris Posters exhibition
By Razzia (Gérard Courbouleix–Dénériaz)
Located in PARIS, FR
This striking 1982 vintage poster, designed by Razzia, was created to promote the Paris Posters exhibition at the Musée de l’Affiche et de la Publicité during the summer (Été 82). Featuring a bold and graphic collage-style composition, the artwork embodies the dynamic energy of 1980s design. Razzia, a renowned French graphic artist, is celebrated for his iconic Art Deco-inspired poster designs with a modern twist. In this piece, he juxtaposes a stylized black-and-white Eiffel Tower, a monochrome portrait of a woman, and an accordion transformed into the Arc de Triomphe, all set against a dramatic black background with vivid color accents. The use of cutout-style imagery and neon-inspired typography reflects the postmodern aesthetic of the early 1980s, capturing the bold creativity of the era. The vibrant contrast of yellow, red, and blue highlights adds to the poster’s visual impact, making it a standout example of contemporary French graphic design. A rare and collectible piece, this original Razzia poster...
