Abstracted Cityscape - Transfer Monotype in Oil on Paper Original transfer monotype painting by California artist Heather Speck (American, 20th C). An abstracted street scene is shown in dark reds, browns, and yellows. The sky is a bold shade of teal, with streaky clouds represented by white space. There is a preliminary sketch on the back of this piece. Hand painted on glass or other medium and pressed on to paper. Signed on verso "Heather Speck" "Transfer Monotype". Presented in a new off-white mat. Mat size: 18"H x 20"W Paper size: 11.25"H x 15"W Heather Speck exhibited in San Francisco. She studied figure and non objective painting. Her broad brush strokes and bold colors are in the style of San Francisco Figurative movement artist James Weeks and William Daw. Unsigned, from a collection of her signed works we acquired from a retired San Francisco framing studio.

A lovely, moody, piece Sarah Amos, originally from Australia, lives in Vermont, and maintains an active International and National exhibition schedule. Sarah left Australia, after receiving a BFA in Printmaking from RMIT, to attend the Tamarind Institute of Lithography in New Mexico. In 1992 she became a certified Tamarind Master Printer in Lithography working with Joyce Kozloff and Barton Lidice Benes . In 1998 Sarah became the Master Printer for the Vermont Studio Center Press until 2008 and during this time she also received an MFA from the University of Northern Vermont. Sarah has been an Adjunct Professor at Dartmouth, Williams and Bennington Colleges teaching Printmaking and Drawing since 2007.
