This colorful abstract landscape piece is a Limited-Edition giclee print by Ken Elliott with an edition of 195. Printed on canvas, this giclee ships framed in a silver floater frame wired and ready to hang. Other floater frame options are available in gold, black, white, and walnut. For additional sizes and alternate frame options or rolled, please contact us. Limited Edition prints are printed with pigment ink on a Premium Fine Art Matte Canvas and designed to meet museum longevity requirements and ensure consistency. The artist's signature and edition number will be added to the giclee electronically when created. Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity containing all information and retail price. Also, this framed giclee ships for free.
This print features a cool blue and violet palette. An abstracted winter scene, a snow-covered rural countryside sits under a cloudy purple sky, with a dull, winter sun just barely shining through the thick clouds and creating a muted glow. The snow on the ground is colored a pale blue, with the bales of hay in the foreground a deep purple, mirroring the dark hills along the horizon and the darkest tones of the sky.
Ken Elliott is an abstract landscape artist based in Colorado. With over 40 years in the art business, his knowledge spans well beyond the easel. Of his work, Elliott says, "My focus is the landscape and its rich store of ideas and inspiration. I am compelled to work from the trees, skies, lakes and streams in their endless variations. I don’t try to recreate nature (even Monet said he never got it right), or attempt storytelling. Instead, the works are simplifications and exaggerations of nature. There was a time when I felt the tyranny of the landscape. That is, I felt limited by making pictures of a place. Now, instead of making pictures, I am free to make paintings - art that comes from nature but is far more reliant on the strategies of making good art objects."
