Original American Airlines World Cup ’94 vintage soccer poster. La Coupe Du Monde Aux Couleurs D’American. Bringing the World to the World Cup. Archivally backed linen is in very fine condition and ready to frame. The images presented here are of the exact poster you will receive. The 1994 FIFA World Cup, hosted by the United States, was the 15th edition of the tournament and marked the first time the event was held in the United States. Here are some key highlights of the event:: The tournament featured 24 teams divided into six groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group advanced to the knockout stage, followed by quarterfinals, semifinals, and the final. Brazil won the tournament, defeating Italy in the final in a penalty shootout after the match ended 0-0 after extra time. This was Brazil's fourth World Cup title. The poster images feature the earth as a blue soccer ball with the airline routes flying across the surface. A large American Airiness rests in the middle of this image. 1. This impression is #22 Carol Wax originally trained to be a classical musician at the Manhattan School of Music but fell in love with printmaking. Soon after she began engraving mezzotints she was asked by the renowned print dealer Sylvan Cole to exhibit at Associated American Artists Gallery, launching her career as a professional artist/printmaker. With the publication of her book, The Mezzotint: History and Technique, published by Abrams, 1990 and 1996, Carol added author and teacher to her credits. In the ensuing years she has expanded her repertoire of mediums beyond printmaking into other works on paper and painting.
