"Homage to Claude Debussy" Musée De Grenoble (after) Raoul Dufy, 1956

1956

About the Item

This lithographic poster was designed after late artist, Raoul Dufy. It was created for exhibition at the Musée De Grenoble in Grenoble, France, 1956. This vintage piece features a poster rendition of Dufy's famed 1952 oil painting, "Homage to Claude Debussy". The beautiful still is a great example of Dufy's fauvist tendencies and post-impressionistict style.  During his life, Raoul Dufy traveled often within France, painting views of the Mediterranean city of Nice, as well as scenes of horse races and regattas. Throughout the 1920s, Dufy worked in a variety of materials, producing ceramics, tapestry hangings, and large-scale architectural decorations. His commission for the 26th Venice Biennale won him the International Grand Prix for painting in 1952, a year before his death on March 23, 1953 in Forcalquier, France. Certificate of Provenance: Each individual work of art carefully curated by Mourlot Editions comes with a Certificate of Provenance, signed, dated, stamped, and numbered by Eric Mourlot. This certificate guarantees the origin and authenticity of your personal lithograph.
