Original Beat Back the Hun with Liberty Bonds vintage military poster.. Artist F. Strothmann. Original World War 1 antique vintage poster; archival linen backed and ready to frame. In very good to excellent condition. Size 20" x 30". Grade A
Depicted: Purple German soldier (possessing a spiked helmet, bloody fingers and green eyes) looming on the horizon over smoking ruins; the sky is yellow-orange. The poster features a menacing figure, often interpreted as a representation of the German enemy (referred to derogatorily as "the Hun"). The use of dark colors and aggressive imagery was designed to evoke fear and urgency.
