About the Item
In 2025, Avant Arte partnered with legendary Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama to release a groundbreaking lenticular print edition—a striking, kinetic homage to his iconic gynoid figures. This edition not only marked Sorayama’s first collaboration with the platform but also introduced a new format for experiencing his meticulously airbrushed world: lenticular movement, shifting with every glance.
Born in 1947 in Imabari, Japan, Sorayama carved his path into global art consciousness through his pioneering portrayal of erotic robots, most notably the Sexy Robot series that began in the 1980s. Seamlessly blending hyperrealism with fantasy, his chrome-plated pin-ups have graced everything from album covers to fashion campaigns (including Dior and BAPE), becoming symbols of both futuristic desire and mechanical precision.
This limited edition of 500, titled simply Untitled, features a female figure rendered in shimmering metallic tones—her synthetic form fluid, poised, and reactive to light. Printed using lenticular technology and mounted on Dibond, the artwork achieves a cinematic depth: her contours shift as the viewer moves, echoing Sorayama’s obsession with illusion, perfection, and motion. Measuring 50 × 36.2 cm, the print comes unframed but includes a custom artist-signed holographic sticker (10 × 6.5 cm) and a Certificate of Authenticity.
More than an object, this piece feels alive—glimmering, transforming, and reminding us that Sorayama has never just painted robots; he’s redefined what it means to merge the erotic with the synthetic, the human with the machine.

Hajime Sorayama (空山 基, Sorayama Hajime, born February 22, 1947) is a Japanese[1] illustrator known, along for his design work on the original Sony AIBO, for his precisely detailed, erotic portrayals of feminine robots. He describes his highly detailed style as "superrealism", which he says "deals with the technical issue of how close one can get to one's object."[1] Modern English-language editions of Sorayama's art books give his name as Hajime Sorayama, using conventional Western order, with given name followed by surname. Some older publications give his name as Sorayama Hajime, using native Japanese name order, which puts the family name first.
