The border, which was later used for other sheets of the same size, always printed in a single colour. B. The plate for the head, printed in two different shades of grey, white, and black. Charming depiction of a noble Spanish lady, freely after El Greco. "Fraise" is the French term for a ruff. Ref. Baer 1321/B/b/2; Bloch 1147. Prov. Arnéra Printing Hourse; Galerie Kornfeld, Bern. Excellent condition. fresh in color and with a very fine impression. One of Picasso’s most iconic linocuts, Portrait de Jacqueline à la fraise captures the artist’s second wife and muse, Jacqueline Roque, rendered with a dramatic ruff collar reminiscent of 17th-century portraiture. Executed in bold black, white, and earthy red tones, the work demonstrates Picasso’s mastery of the linocut technique, which he explored extensively during the early 1960s with the printer Hidalgo Arnéra in Vallauris.
