Red Grooms
1988 'van Gogh with Sunflowers' HAND SIGNED Limited Edition

1988

About the Item

This limited edition lithograph, titled Van Gogh with Sunflowers, was created by the celebrated American artist Red Grooms. The print is part of an exclusive edition of only 75, each signed and numbered by Grooms. Printed on high-quality deckled edge paper, this piece exemplifies Grooms' distinctive and vibrant style. Van Gogh with Sunflowers pays homage to the iconic Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh, capturing his likeness surrounded by his famous sunflowers. Grooms’ playful and energetic approach brings a contemporary twist to this classic subject, infusing the composition with his characteristic whimsy and bold use of color. The lithograph is currently framed in an elegant gold frame, which complements the rich hues of the artwork. While the print has not been examined outside of the frame, it presents beautifully and is ready for display. Red Grooms is known for his dynamic and often humorous depictions of urban life and historical figures. His ability to blend realism with a cartoon-like aesthetic makes his work instantly recognizable and highly sought after by collectors. Shipping and Handling: We ship Worldwide. Geometric Mouse
By Claes Oldenburg
Located in Toronto, Ontario
Claes Oldenberg (b.1929) is a Swedish-born American artist, renowned for his contribution to Pop art by way of his iconic soft sculptures and public installations. In 1962, Oldenburg debuted his revolutionary soft sculptures at the Green Gallery in New York. Three giant, squishy sculptures of an ice cream cone, a hamburger, and a slice of cake, swelled across the gallery floor, forever changing the way we define sculpture. It has been noted that Oldenburg's early work was largely inspired by Yayoi Kusama's hand-sewn phallic-shaped soft sculptures that enveloped the surfaces of ironing boards, sofas, and boats. Click here to see an exhibition poster featuring a later example of Kusama's soft sculptures. Ranging from voluminous hamburgers (famously on display at the AGO) to ballistic badminton shuttlecocks, Oldenberg's colossal sculptures replicate commonplace objects on a grand scale, often disrupting the environment they inhibit with curious and playful subtexts. The confrontational nature of Oldenberg's sculptures places an emphasis on the viewer, asking us to reconsider our relationship to these recognizable, but obscure, objects. "Geometric Mouse...
