About the Item
Robert Indiana, a major force in the Pop Art movement described himself as "a painter of signs." Four Sixes, as this screenprint is called clearly captures his brilliant use of color and graphics. This work was featured as the image for January in the 1969 Domberger calendar. The calendar included 12 different works by prominent artists from that time, one for each month of the year. What truly makes this impression unique is that it is #6 of 100, and inscribed 6666 by the artist. Note that the actual print dimension is 13.25" x 12" - float mounted in a white wood frame.
