About the Item

One of seven engravings of imaginary flowers done for the portfolio "Flore Mutine". Signed, titled and initialed by the artist, #IX/XV. She studied at the Institute of Visual Arts of Orleans then she returned to the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She currently teaches at the Palace of Fine Arts in Lille. She prefers working with burin and engraving her. Grall does not draw from nature. She says that her work is often located somewhere between figuration and abstraction, where chance and imagination have their place. This creates a more poetic picture of the world which, for her, remains an enigma. While the prints in this series are seemingly faithful botanical portrait, they are all imaginary creations.
