About the Item
This abstract sculpture shows a spirited and organic form. These qualities are emphasized by the brilliant yellow color that adorns 80% of the work and by the technical expertise of the sculptor. The yellow appears lacquered on, punctuated by an opening in kelly green and another in snow white. The ebullience of this piece is in a very contemporary vein. The sinuous main body of the sculpture rests on a black wooden base.
Ivan Ramirez is a Venezuelan artist now living in New York. After studying sculpture, painting, and printmaking at the University of the Andes, Ramirez developed a record of exhibitions in galleries and museums in Latin America. As he garnered more important public art commissions, Ramirez opened his own foundry and workshop dedicated to creating sculptures in bronze and other media.
