About the Item

Created in 1987, this original acrylic on wood sculpture is hand signed by Victor Vasarely (Pécs, 1906 - Paris, 1997)in black ink in the lower centerand numbered from the edition of 175 in black ink in the lower right; published by Circle Fine Art Corporation. At first glance, this optical wood sculpture appears to be in a standard, rectangular composition that is set on its side. However, the profile of the work gradually widens as it moves from right to left, transforming the sculpture into a subtle wooden wedge piece that serves to complement the depth and range of its optical effect on the viewer. This exemplary work exhibits Vasarely's range as a master of optics, painter, and sculptor. DOCUMENTED AND ILLUSTRATED IN: 1. Certificate Documentation direct from Circle Fine Art Corporations accompanies this piece. Listed and illustrated as edition code VAS 116.
