About the Item

An original limited edition bronze sculpture. A historical depiction of a rural doctor rushing to his patient by a horse drawn carriage. Movement and urgency is captured with impeccable detail, from the strong muscular legs of the running horse, the movement of the crop whip to hasten the journey, to the doctor's eager composure. You can sense the movement of the wheels and the bounce of the canopy as it speeds through the countryside. Sculpted by renowned Scottsdale, AZ sculptor Bob Parks (1943-2017) titled Country Doctor - Emergency, measuring 28 by 19.5 by 10 inches; 1980. Hand signed by front wheel. This piece sits on a wooden base with brass plaque. Limited edition bronze #2 of 24. Prominent Scottsdale, AZ sculptor Bob Parks has created more than 300 unique sculptures over his 30 year career. His impeccable workmanship includes limited editions in the 5 to 35 piece range. Each sculpture reflects extraordinary vitality and consistent high quality, ingredients contributing to his success as a sculptor. His commissioned clientele includes radio personality, Paul Harvey, the late film and TV star, Gene Autry, And the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat. Corporate collectors include Coors Co., Chicago Art Institute, Canadian Senate, Favell Art Museum, Birmingham Art Museum, Arlington International Race Course, Southern Methodist University, Texas Quarter Horse Association, Mayo Clinic Hospital. Bob has also done a considerable amount of commissioned work for various people throughout the United States. Two of the sculptures were used as trophies for the American Saddlebred Memorial Trophy and the Royal Winter Horse Show. He was awarded the commission of a sculpture for the 1988 National Cattlemen’s Association. One of his most notable pieces is the monumental sculpture fountain, in Scottsdale, Arizona depicting five Life-size Arabian Horses.
