The work was purchased directly from McElroy's estate. The artist's signature (initials) are engraved at the base of the sculpture.
Patrick McElroy (Irish, 1923-2008). While primarily known for his sculptures, McElroy worked with a diverse range of media. His artwork frequently features anthropomorphic figures with elongated limbs.
