This sculpture is made by Dutch artist Peter Adams. It is made out of bronze. (2020)
He himself sees his sculpting as an artistic quest that never ends. But fortunately it has intermediate stages that can be concluded with satisfaction - if an image has been created with eloquence. The sculptor from Bladel can be found in his studio every day to work on "his assignment".
Peter Adams works "after a living model". The modeling takes place while the model is in this position for him. Often 8 sessions of half a day. Thereafter, the artist works in clay or wax. After finishing the model a mold is made by him. In the mold the bronze is cast. All in all, it is therefore a long and traditional process.
The artist:
For decades Peter Adams (Bladel, 1959) . While working in his own company he started to focus on visual art. He followed a drawing course for six years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arendonk (B). He then specialized training to those same three years in portrait and figure drawing. After completing his drawing training, Peter Adams started studying sculpture, also at the academy in Arendonk. First five years of classical model and then a three-year specialization figurative sculpting.
He graduated cum laude. In addition to the aforementioned courses, Peter Adams has followed various master classes, including with Eddy Roos in Uithuizen and Amsterdam.
He currently works in his own studio.
