Son of Lubomir and Lucyna née Bartłomiejczyk. He was an alumnus of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Student of the Warsaw University of Technology In 1966 he emigrated to New York City in the United States. In the 1970s, he moved to Easton, Connecticut where he lived until his death in 2018. He fought as a soldier of Polish Home Army through all the 63 days of Warsaw Uprising. He was a commander of anti-tank unit. He witnessed the death of his younger brother and many friends. Tomaszewski started his artistic work in the 1950s in Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw, an innovative institution with an aim to create modern living in post-war Poland. He cooperated with designers like Henryk Jędrasiak, Mieczysław Naruszewicz i Hanna Orthwein. He created popular porcelain figurines and "Ina" and "Dorota" coffee sets, which were exhibited at the International Exhibition of the Board of the Industrial Designers’ Association (ICSID) in Paris in 1963. In 1994, he established an international art movement called Emotionalism, together with a group of painters, sculptors, photographers and even dancers and musicians. He started creating his unique fire and smoke paintings. His sculptures were recognized by The New York Times in 1975: “The most effective among the pieces are the animals or birds that convey the state of tension or movement or brute strength, something that struggles against gravity to maintain its force.” Tomaszewski took part in over 150 individual and group exhibitions around the world. His works are in renowned museum and private art collections of, among others: National Museum in Warsaw, National Museum in Cracow, Warsaw Uprising Museum, Hale Museum in Germany, Robert Marston, Rockefeller Family and Jimmy Carter. "Washington Sea Eagle": An Original Audubon Hand-colored Lithograph
Located in Alamo, CA
This is an original John James Audubon hand-colored royal octavo lithograph entitled "Washington Sea Eagle", No. 3, Plate 13, from Audubon's "Birds of America". It was lithographed, printed and colored by J. T. Bowen and published in Philadelphia between 1856-1871. It depicts an adult male sea eagle perched on a rock. This is an excerpt from Audubon's own description of this magnificent eagle, which includes how he came up with the name "Washington Sea Eagle": "The name which I have chosen for this new species of Eagle, “The Bird of Washington,” may, by some, be considered as preposterous and unfit; but as it is indisputably the noblest bird of its genus that has yet been discovered in the United States, I trust I shall be allowed to honour it with the name of one yet nobler, who was the saviour of his country, and whose name will ever be dear, to it. To those who may be curious to know my reasons, I can only say, that, as the new world gave me birth and liberty, the great man who ensured its independence is next to my heart. He had a nobility of mind, and a generosity of soul, such as are seldom possessed. He was brave, so is the Eagle; like it, too, he was the terror of his foes; and his fame, extending from pole to pole, resembles the majestic soarings of the mightiest of the feathered tribe...

Original 1918 "Join the Army Air Service, Be An American Eagle!" vintage poster
Located in Spokane, WA
Original U. S military World War 1 poster: Join the ARMY AIR SERVICE Be an American Eagle! Consult your local draft board. Read the illustrated booklet at any recruiting office, or write to the Chief Signal Officer of the Army, Washington D. D. Linen backed in very good condition; ready to frame. Professionally restore fold marks that are inconspicuous. Artist: Charles Livingston Bull Extremely rare original World War 1 poster. When you research all the major museums that have a copy of this poster, it is usually in bad shape with missing paper. This original c. 1917 has no missing paper and is bright and vibrant. It should be in the finest condition original available. Explore The United States Army Air Service was the aerial warfare service component of the United States Army between 1918 and 1926 1. It was established as an independent but temporary branch of the U.S. War Department during World War I by two executive orders of President Woodrow Wilson: on May 24, 1918, replacing the Aviation Section, Signal Corps as the nation’s Air Force, and March 19, 1919, establishing a military Director of Air Service to control all aviation activities. Its life was extended for another year in July 1919, during which time Congress passed the legislation necessary to make it a permanent establishment. The National Defense Act of 1920 assigned the Air Service the status of “combatant arm of the line” of the United States Army with a major general in command. Charles Livingston Bull (1874-1932) was an American illustrator known for his illustrations of wildlife. Bull studied taxidermy in Rochester, New York, and his first job at the age of 16 was preparing animals for mounting at the Ward’s Museum in Rochester, New York. During World War I, he designed recruiting posters, including the famous Join the Army Air Service poster...

Acrylic on Stretched Canvas SPECIFICATIONS: - Artist-grade canvas. - 1.5" deep wooden support bars - Gallery Stretching & Wrap About Artist Irena Orlov, innovative, contemporary fine artist, architect, designer, illustrator, photographer is known for creating captivating works which are full of energy. Extraordinary versatile in her mediums, Irena could never imagine life without art. She is an artist whose path in the fine arts has led her to a unique expression of mood and color. The combination of antique and a very clean, crisp modern design sense creates a highly prized, individual art style. Her images begin spontaneously and give expression to personal creativity and insight. Each piece is unique in design. Irena often prefers to think of herself as a craftsman, constructing, or interpreting imagery and messages from her conscious and subconscious mind. Irena Ukrainian born lives and works in Los Angeles. STATEMENT I've been drawn by the magical beauty behind fine arts and design since childhood. Having a successful carrier in architecture and design for quite a long time, I began to deal with fine art. I began to look for new ways to express my emotions and feelings. The process of creating art gave me what I wanted - endless ways of expressing myself. During the creating process, I don't limit myself to a specific style or medium therefore my art is mostly represents mixed media. My creating process is based on my emotions and my mood. I'm very spontaneous. Today I might use photography to convey my feelings...tomorrow I might paint to express myself. My work is infused with spirit and energy I felt at the moment I created it. It encourages viewers to interpret it their own way. My art evokes different feelings in the audience depending on their individual experiences and memories. I was and continue to be inspired by the beauty of the world around me and can spent hours to explore it. The rapid world at which is everything changed so fast, I discovered that I will never live in quite the same world. Life unfolds only in moments. Capturing moments that are full of emotion is the key to my art. Screaming Young Kestral II - Photorealistic Bird Portrait, Cloud Covered Sky
Located in Chicago, IL
Painted with such exacting detail it is hard to believe it is not a photograph. This piece is framed in a simple wooden frame measuring 27 x 27 inches. Rick Pas Screaming Young Kestrel 2 acrylic on panel 12h x 12w in 30.48h x 30.48w cm RPA016 ARTIST'S STATEMENT Creating is an addiction. With all the highs and lows you would expect. I am interested in the surface textures and creating paintings that portray them in realistic detail. Hopefully a viewer will feel they can run a hand over the feathers and moss, or grasp an object in the painting. This detail is usually composed in an abstract design. The Vulture. 1942 (Histoire Naturelle - Textes de Buffon, B.341)
Located in Greenwich, CT
The Vulture is an aquatint and drypoint print on chine from one of the deluxe copies of Picasso's 1942 Histoire Naturelle - Textes de Buffon series. The image size is 10.6 x 8 inches, unsigned as issued, and framed in a contemporary silver and gray moulding. One of about 36 prints that exist with Picasso's remarqued title in French, from the edition of 262 (there were 226 portfolios, some with additional sets on varying papers). Catalogue - Cramer #37 The exceptional etchings from Picasso’s Histoire Naturelle – Textes de Buffon are a masterful combination of sugar-lift aquatint and drypoint, showcasing a full range of gray tonalities. The etchings of animals, birds and insects are considered some of the most beautiful and most unusual examples of Picasso’s graphic work. Roger Lacourière, Picasso’s master printer, pulled the prints for each etching between 1939-1942. It was Lacourière who taught Picasso the sugar-lift aquatint technique which allowed him to mimic the effect of brushstrokes in these etched images. Picasso first explored the technique in his plates for the Vollard Suite, but it was in the creation of the Buffon images that he fully realized its stunning, painterly potential. For the edition, 226 portfolios were produced with the first thirty-six counting as deluxe compilations. These rare deluxe sets were on diverse papers (chine, japon or vergé ancien) and each included a complete additional suite showing Picasso’s title remarques along the bottom. As such, the remarqued versions of the prints are quite rare with just thirty-six of each produced for the edition (with the exception of The Wolf which is never remarqued – the image always fills the entire etching plate). These prints are based on the writings of French naturalist Georges-Louis Leclerc, Comte de Buffon, who extensively documented the natural world in his monumental work Histoire Naturelle. Picasso’s association with the project to illustrate parts of the Buffon came during a tumultuous time in European history – the prelude to, and early years of, World War II. As the continent was ravaged, Picasso lived through the disaster in Paris, which the Germans occupied in 1940. These prints could be seen as a political statement – Picasso channeling his artistic expression into a form of resistance art...
