Quinn has used orchids repeatedly and thematically in his sculptures and these unique pieces are inspired by the artist's ongoing 'Flower sculptures' series. Like their inspiration, these works are described by Quinn as the most magical transformation of reality into art - rendered intimately for personal wear.
Artist Marc Quinn known for his voluptuous hyper-real, super-bright flower and that famous golden statue of Kate Moss doing yoga has made a very limited edition of these yellow gold rings. He has made white bronze sculptures as well as white gold jewelry for Selfridges in London. Quinn has used orchids repeatedly as a motif in his work. Major artists such as Pablo Picasso, Alexander Calder, Salvador Dalí, Lucio Fontana and Roy Lichtenstein and Claude and Xavier Lalanne have sall made artists Art Jewelry. These unique pieces are inspired by the artist's ongoing 'Flower sculptures' series. These have been included in the Dine Venet collection as well as in the Louisa Guinness gallery collection. (She has commissioned works by Anish Kapoor, Claude Lalanne, Marc Quinn and Ron Arad). Quinn first came to public attention in the early 1990s through his affiliation with the Young British Artists (YBAs). Among his earliest and best-known works is Self (1991), a cast of his head made from ten pints of Quinn’s frozen blood, an amount equal to the volume in his body. In a 2013 interview, the artist said that the YBA movement had been about “bringing real life into art.” In both Self and Spiral of the Galaxy, Quinn’s urge is holistic and metaphysical, a desire to translate the substance of life into image. Young British Artists, or YBAs—also referred to as Brit artists and Britart—is a loose group of visual artists who first began to exhibit together in London in 1988. Many of the YBA artists graduated from the BA Fine Art course at Goldsmiths, in the late 1980s, whereas some from the group had trained at Royal College of Art.
Leading artists of the group include Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin.
The core of the YBA group graduated from the Goldsmiths BA Fine Art degree course in the classes of 1987–90. Liam Gillick, Fiona Rae, Steve Park and Sarah Lucas, were graduates in the class of 1987. Ian Davenport, Michael Landy, Gary Hume, Anya Gallaccio, Lala Meredith-Vula, Henry Bond, Angela Bulloch, were graduates in the class of 1988; Damien Hirst, Angus Fairhurst, Mat Collishaw, Simon Patterson, and Abigail Lane, were graduates from the class of 1989; whilst Gillian Wearing, and Sam Taylor-Wood, were graduates from the class of 1990, and Jason Martin was graduated with the class of 1993. “My motivation to create this sculpture was to highlight how some in society view masturbation as a devils act. The piece portrays the view by embracing our inner demons, we remove any power others may hold over us in ones pursuit of so called sinful pleasure. In addition I wanted the work to be reflective of boundaries by creating a reverse set diamond collar, drawing the line on how far you are willing to go in pursuit of self pleasure. The rose gold represents warmth and the rich red garnet set tongue portrays the devils fiery entrance or his gateway to hell for those who have exceeded the boundaries.”
The sculpture embodies sinful lust and passion and is electroformed from pure 24k gold, finished in 18k rose gold, featuring 18k white gold collar reverse set with 5 carats of flawless diamonds. The horns are 18k white gold, pave' set with flawless diamonds and the eyes and tongue set with rich red garnets.

Antoinette Ferwerda is a renowned Australian artist largely recognized for producing a bold collection of fine artwork that joyfully explores the geometry of shape and the changing light from dusk to dawn. Championing her love for shape, reflection, and nature using a diverse pallet of mixed media to portray her abstract interpretations of nature. Antoinette's diverse past and a childhood that was somewhat nomadic has inspired much of her work today. Antoinette’s backstory reads like something out of an adventure series, having spent her early days living in remote pockets of Papua New Guinea, where she was lucky to spend time in a seaside shack on Ela Beach in Port Moresby, as well as the volcanic town of Rabaul, the Cargo Port Lae, before moving on to Darwin where her Dad worked for the Red Cross and helped with the re-build process after Cyclone Tracy. This was followed by a family stint in Europe, visiting Netherlands, London, Belgium, France, Italy, and Switzerland, before finally settling back in Melbourne for her formative years.
Her love for nature and exploring the patterns and relationships she finds within started early. “I’ve been forever fascinated with color and the magical interplay of light”. “Blessed to have a teacher Mum who fostered regular creative time during our nomadic stint, my childhood was largely spent creating, especially outdoors”. Never without a pen, sketchbook or scraps of paper, her natural ability to create in layers instinctively started in these early years. Although her work continues to evolve, she consistently creates works that are rich in layers, resulting in pieces that are optimistic, luminous and full of stories from her colorful life.
Her signature work is abundant with color and texture, resulting in a transparent quality of her works. Adaptable to any palette, Antoinette has produced works from a diversity of spectrums and mediums – sun-soaked, muted and ethereal, vibrant, as well as monochromatic with accents of gold. Her themes include abstract and metaphysical interpretations of fossicking in rock pools, exploring the rolling hills of the countryside both here and abroad, the rock formations of the Australian outback and the magical light of a European summer to name just a few. Her dream and longing to become an artist became a reality after starting her own family and farewelling a corporate life in the pharmaceutical industry, with her debut solo exhibition in 2014.
Six years on, Antoinette has fast become a firm favorite amongst interior designers, stylists and home decorators alike, having been represented by fenton&fenton, Thom Gallery and Trit House (formally Click On Furniture) to name just a few. “I wanted to create a classic vintage piece in honor of the world’s greatest lover Giacomo Casanova, reflecting on his rich Venetian heritage and his impact on carnal thoughts and desires. The sculpture embodies the image of this red blooded Italian, full of passion, color and strength, dressed in ornate design and bursting with sexual energy. The piece had to scream Venice with all the mystery of disguise and its naughty playfulness. Smooth cabochon gems possessing natural sexual energy were my inspiration for the rich colors. The ornate wrought iron pattern on the shaft is reflective of Casanova's gateway to pleasure and my use of rich yellow gold, diamonds and pearl was to add treasure to the memory of this passionate man and his famous legacy of love.”

Artists Inspiration:
“Influence was drawn from visiting Shanghai and encountering a city on the move like no other, expanding at lightning pace but reflecting back to the 1930’s when Shanghai was seen as the Paris of the East or better known as the whore of the Orient. There seemed to be a movement underway to ensure the city not forget its exciting past and efforts to recapture some of this vibrant history were at play. From my observation, modern China is experiencing a sexual revolution, where an oppressive past has given way to a new modern world of fashion, fun and luxurious opulence. I wanted to create a unique art piece that would reflect what I was seeing and feeling, it had to have deep Chinese tradition and power balanced out with this new outrageous opulence. From my perspective the new Shanghai is still the vibrant Paris of the East, or as she was better known, “the whore of the Orient”. Electroformed in pure 24k yellow gold, featuring a traditional Chinese dragon totem, symbolizing power, strength and good luck, combined with a solid 18k white gold pave’ set diamond lotus flower with 3.8 carat flawless white diamond solitaire at its peak.
